For years now, I am unable to continue walking on a sidewalk if I see a worm crossing my path. I feel compelled to reach down and try to pick it up as lightly as I can (they are slippery little guys!) and then place it back on the grass. I remember one time, I must have returned at least 10 back to a more natural setting during my walk after a rainfall.
